Our Staff

 As Executive Director, Betsy Griffin leads the Lenoir County Council on Aging with a passion for senior wellness and community service. She earned her BSBA from East Carolina University and joined the LCCOA team in 2014 as Program Coordinator, assuming the role of Executive Director in 2016. 

 Winsora Blanford, PhD, was born in Kinston. She has always loveed learning and adventures. Winsora has enjoyed a variety of occupations, each preparing her for the next. Her latest position of Homecare Manager has been filled with learning and adventure. 

Vera is a bundle of energy coordinating the congregate meal site in Kinston. She serves hot meals to participants five days per week.

A Pink Hill resident, Alicia manages the Margaret Hewitt Nutrition Site, serving lunch to local seniors.

LaVerne instructs both the Arthritis Chair Aerobics classes at the Kinston Site and at the La Grange Community Center, and the Tai Chi for Balance class at the Kinston site. 

Andi has a B.A. in Psychology and an M.S. in Gerontology. She has worked in the aging field since 2004, first as a LTC Ombudsman, then as an I&A specialist and Medicare Counselor. She has been with LCCOA since 2020 providing information/assistance and serving as business manager. 

  Rebecca helps ensure smooth daily operations and provides vital support to staff and clients. She earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from Lenoir Community College after graduating high school in 1998. Known for her organization and compassion, Rebecca has a strong commitment to serving her community.
